Healthy Beef Burgers with Quark Sauce

Ingredients

  • 500g beef mince
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Cooking spray
  • 4 whole-wheat hamburger buns
  • 2 cups rocket
  • Sliced tomato
  • Thinly sliced red onion
Sauce:
  • ½ cup Natural Quark (500g)
  • ½ tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Finely chopped mint
  • Paprika

Method

  1. Using clean hands, combine beef, oregano, cumin, salt, and ¼ teaspoon of pepper. Shape mixture into 4 equal patties.
  2. Heat a grill pan over high. Lightly coat skillet with cooking spray, and add patties. Cook until 4 to 5 minutes per side.
  3. Stir together yogurt, mint, paprika, red wine vinegar and ¼ teaspoon pepper in a small bowl. Spread yogurt mixture evenly on cut sides of top and bottom buns. Divide rocket evenly among bottom halves of buns; top evenly with cooked patties, tomato, and red onion. Cover with top halves of buns and serve.
